Mysore or Maisūru () is the second largest city in the Indian state of Karnataka. Mysore is the administrative seat of Mysore District, and Mysore Division. It is located at 770 m above sea level at and is 135 km from Bangalore, the state capital. Mysore has been proposed to be renamed in English by the state government to Mysuru.[1][2]
